January …

Start with a finish…

Sounds like a good start!

I started this top in October, then other priorities took place,

just when only two rows were about to be sewn.

During the last week in December I finished sewing it.

The idea for the color combination came from the fabric I bought at one time or another. It had pink, orange, yellow, green, and grey. The blue and turquoise are my “blue addiction”, a little-bitty part of me in almost every quilt I make.  The pattern is from Jay Bird Quilts Tiny Dancer, I enjoy working with her rulers.

Then, the quilting…

Last but not least…

The binding,

front and back.

Finished!

On to a new project…

From a bundle of FQs…to a top…

A journey that may take some time until you take courage and begin making blocks without knowing whether the fabric will be enough or not…

This bundle was a gift I got for my birthday last year, a beautiful collection of reds.

Let’s see how it evolves…

Have a lovely and creative week,

The quilt is a cheerful start for the new year. Your blue additions make the quilt look fresh and lovely. Good luck with the star blocks, I hope you have enough fabric.

What a beautiful fun quilt! Well done on another finish Suzie! Love the bright colour combinations. Blue has turned into my fav colour this past year. So many shades to match any mood or situation. What a lovely start you have made to your red project.
