The signs of spring

The garden is starting to bloom! I really missed the flowers.

It is so beatiful when all the colors start to show and shine!

And this IS the sign of spring, our Cleo just made her nest!
But of course she won't get her babies, Bunny is castrated!...

The weather is so nice now, the snow is gone, the sun shines, the sky is blue and it is a little bit breezy.
It is just the right time for some quilt airing!

Even if today it is only my miniatures!
Here is the Snail trail for my son, finally all done! He is very glad with the results, this time he asked for a big one.

And here is my New York Beauty, now ready for basting!

All basted,
checked and now,

it is time to tame the "beast"!!

I think my quilting gloves just match the quilt colors!

I'll see if I get it done this week.
There are quite some new ideas going on on my mind, I'll just have to give it a try!!!
See you soon!

Lots of sewing

I am lucky I did a lot of sewing.
The snail trail quilt for my son was waiting to get its binding since January.
The New York Beauty was still waiting to be sewn because I just coundn't decide which way I should sew it together, it was so exciting to play with all the possibilities!
But then, I also wanted to get them done, so I put my bums in gear! Well, I should say my foot on the pedal!

It actually looks like it is enough, doesn't it? I thought so... Only 5 centimeters!!!

All right, I didn't panic...I "corrected it" and started it again...

To quote Cathy Miller (the singing quilter) :

"in a quilter's world it all takes time,
stitch and sew, adjust the line.."

I finally decided to sew it like this, I really want to see it done!

So, let's start sewing!!

It is growing!

And growing!

How do they look like now?
I am looking for a nice, a bit sunny day to take some good photos!
With this gray sky?...No....
I can wait! Then I will post the pictures!
Stay tuned!

It is Easter!!!

Happy Easter!!

From me and from Mr. and Mrs. Bunny!Hi, there! Happy Easter from me too!!

What about a little help from the patient and lovely "Easter" Snail?
He is always willing to help and he can carry a lot, believe me!! My spools of thread, scissors and who knows what!
And he also shows me that I don't have to hurry - what for? Take it easy and everything will go just fine.
All of these beautiful patterns are from Tonne Finnanger (Norway). I do admire her work! It is fresh, lovely, inspiring!
I have already sewn quite a few of her patterns, they are all over the house, in almost every corner, for every season there is a nice motiv. I am a great fan of Scandinavia! Their artisans are one of the best.
The books of Anne-Pia Godske Rasmussen (Danmark) are also great. The nest time I'll make some pictures of her lovely creations.

Well, I shouldn't forget the chicks! They are also part of Easter! I have so many of them, it is hard to decide which one i should take a picture...

These are my country chicks, they all sit around during easter.
I'll sew some new ones next year.

Hey, where are all the chocolate eggs??

Should we really hide them outside? They will get wet!...What should we do??
It is spring, isn't it???

Look at me, you guys!
I was all set to work in the garden, just looking forward to my carrots, and see what we have now, lots of snow!!!

I was not dreaming of a white Easter!!!!!

I know the kids are all playing outside and having a good time, enjoying themselves and that is the reason why I won't complain about this crazy weather, I promise!

So, this is Easter!!!
I'll just go for a walk.
You just have to take it the way it comes!
See you!

I found this paper on my desk and I just had to laugh!!!

Five secrets of a good relationship

1. It is very important to find a man who helps to clean the house, cooks and has a job.
2. It is very important to find a man who makes you laugh.
3. It is very important to find a man that you can really trust and you know he does not lie to you.
4. It is very important to find a man who is good in bed and loves making love to you.
5. It is very important that these four men do not know each other!!!

Well, I know who left that on my desk!!!
My dear sweetheart, I don't need the other four ones! You are the one for me! And believe me, you are all the four ones in one!

What have I been doing? Gardening, sewing, baking!

After weeks of ilness our Bunny is healthy again. Cleo was caring for him all the time too. He still bends his head, but it is not that bad anymore. This is what I sewed last week. I looked through my stash and then found some fabric that the colors run from dark to light. The idea of sewing curves, well, actually waves, and then cut into squares and again cut them diagonally really appealed to me. It didn't take long to cut and sew, but let's see how long I'll need to quilt it!!!

That's how my hands look like after working in the garden! But I enjoyed! I t was so nice to stay outside and "feel" the earth! The only problem was my back, oh boy, I AM getting old....Who cares about ages??I should tell that to my back, well, to my whole body!!!
It felt like spring already! All of the narcissi look just great, it is such a joy to see them in the garden. I wish they would last longer, probably in a few weeks they will be gone and I have to wait until next year again.

Who would believe that??! Just a couple of days after I took the pictures in my garden and we all were so glad spring were there, the snow simply came back!!!!
I know, I know, in the calendar it is not spring yet, but it was so nice thinking and feeling it was!...Well, it won't last long either and soon I can spend some hours outside.
Of course, when the weather gets cold again, what do I have to do? To bake, what else?!These buns smelled sooo good! And they tasted very good as well. They look a little bit different from the original recipe,,1419,RC.html , but that doesn't matter, we loved eating them!

Just a few lines...

I'm quite involved in organising, sewing and getting things ready for the easter markets. The last weeks I actually didn't do almost nothing else. Sometimes I think it is because I'm not so good in doing things under pressure, I hate to get things done just because they have to be done!...It is about two years now that I've been selling my sewings at these markets and I'm coming to the conclusion that it is not so nice to put yourself into this kind of pressure. I love to sew, but I also love to try new things, sometimes just for the fun of it! And I love to get my own things done!!!But, to have things for the markets I let my projects somewhere in boxes or bags for weeks, months and some more months....On this sunday I'll be going to another one. But then, oh yes, then I will work on my quilts and other things!!!!!This is a promise I make myself! And I also want to decorate the whole house for the easter bunny and for the easter chicken as well! And when my friend comes back from her holidays, we are planning to sew a little bit together, that's gonna be really nice!
